Pop in to Pātaka for our Tuesday evening events

First Cheeseday of the month

Matching cheese and wine
Perfect Partners - cheese and wine

The first Tuesday of each month is also Pātaka’s First Cheeseday.  We will be showcasing products from our local cheese suppliers matched with Marlborough wines.  Each First Cheeseday will focus on a different cheese range or winery with either a cheesemaker or winemaker here to share the secrets of their craft and demonstrate the perfect pairing of cheese and a complementary wine.

There will be opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of friends, warm yourself on our homemade soup and bread and purchase a glass of wine.

First Cheeseday at Pātaka is too good to miss.

Soft drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate also available.

Tickets $25 include 5 cheese and complementary wine  tastings.

Friday 23 March

Sonic Delusion

What’s this?  Music advertising invading the cheese column?  What next?

We are delighted to welcome André Manella to Pātaka as part of his NZ tour.

Too funky for folk and too folky for funk – that’s Sonic Delusion’s Latin-infused, pop-laced “funky electroacoustic folk”.

Sonic Delusion’s frontman Andre Manella uses his well-worn loop pedal to spontaneously create layers of rhythm, tone and vocals.

The Swiss-Kiwi electro-folk raconteur “easily carves out his own unapologetically ambitious and intriguingly experimental sound”.

“Catchy loops invite plenty of dancing and hip swaying… a sensual delight to the ears”.

Join us at Pātaka for an evening’s entertainment, a glass of your favourite Lake Chalice wine and some delicious home made treats.

Tickets $10

Tuesday 13th March

The Little Things

Tash Bird

We recently hosted these talented musicians as part of Jas Josland’s NZ tour, but are thrilled to welcome them back to Pātaka as solo and duo artists.

Singer songwriter, Tash Bird comes from Nottingham, England. She released her debut EP in September 2016. Her performance involves looping guitar and layering harmonies to create the full soul-folk sound of her original songs. Her passion for music and travel has taken her to US and now New Zealand. You can look forward to entrancing performance of originality and a soulful sound.

The Little Things!  are a ukulele duo formed in New Orleans in 2013, currently based in south Florida. Katy Channing and Shanece Gransam came together musically to relax and forget about the stress of life – just playing some ukulele on our front step. After a passerby thought they were street performers, they decided to give busking a shot. Fast forward five years and they’re travelling around the world, playing original music. With melodic harmonies and compact instruments, they are grateful to call their jobs and their  passion one and the same thing.

Tickets $10.

Lake Chalice wines, soft drinks and delicious homemade snacks available.
