Pop in to Pātaka for our Tuesday evening events

First Cheeseday of the month

Matching cheese and wine
Perfect Partners - cheese and wine

The first Tuesday of each month is also Pātaka’s First Cheeseday.  We will be showcasing products from our local cheese suppliers matched with Marlborough wines.  Each First Cheeseday will focus on a different cheese range or winery with either a cheesemaker or winemaker here to share the secrets of their craft and demonstrate the perfect pairing of cheese and a complementary wine.

There will be opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of friends, warm yourself on our homemade soup and bread and purchase a glass of wine.

First Cheeseday at Pātaka is too good to miss.

Soft drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate also available.

Tickets $25 include 5 cheese and complementary wine  tastings.

Tuesday 3rd October

Cranky Goat & Lake Chalice Wines -SOLD OUT

Cranky Goat Ltd is a family business based at Linkwater in the Marlborough Sounds.  Simon, Hellene  and Hannah Lamb produce a range of stunning goats’ cheeses with milk from their neighbours’ herd.  Stand outside the cheese room and you can see the goats roaming the hillside opposite.

At the 2016 NZ national cheese awards Cranky Goat were awarded one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Simon and Hannah are helping us celebrate NZ Cheese month by sharing their story and of course, their stunning cheeses.   Naturally at Patāka we believe great cheeses deserve great Marlborough wines – a match made in heaven, but available to you at Pātaka the Foodstore.

Tuesday 17th October

Americana Express

Join us for an evening’s entertainment with one of Marlborough’s newest bands comprising four talented musicians.

Kathy Milam, vocals and guitar, hails from the States and brings with her an Americana style complete with an American accent and folk guitar. Rob Barrer, vocals and guitar, is a familiar name on the Marlborough music scene and has been in several folk and rock bands. He is best known for his music in the band “Cube” and also writes and performs his own music. Geoff Hoare, guitarist, plays a unique finger picking style that will put a smile on anyone’s face. Paul Leedom, percussion background vocalist, is new to the music industry and just happened to be sitting on a box drum at their initial band practice and began tapping out a beat. He did so well that he bought himself a box drum and has been jamming ever since. Americana Express play Goldie Oldies, Country and Americana but mostly they just have fun. Come and join us in Pataka’s cosy setting for sing-a-longs and fun.

Tickets $10.

Lake Chalice wines, soft drinks and delicious homemade snacks available.
